So Many Local Households Chose Solar Installation to Reduce Their Expenses! Do You Want to Be the Next One to Join the Million Solar Roof Initiative?

The US Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) does annual research to classify the most solar states in the US. In 2014, as expected, California is again at the top. We are proud to announce that, according to their rating, Point Loma, CA is still one of the most environmentally-concerned and green communities in the state! Our runner ups Arizona (#2) and North Carolina (#3) are still far behind!

Solar power delivers enough clean and renewable energy to many local households, so if you still do not have a solar installation yourself, you seriously need to think about it because your utility bills will be significantly reduced over time. Although it may seem like a big investment in the beginning, this installation will quickly pay off, and its initial costs are now drastically dropping because of the support of the local government.

In the beginning of 2015, California still leads the nation in the number of households that have solar panels installed. Their number has risen to over 230,000. Of course, a lot of solar installations were installed because of the renewable energy program Million Solar Roof Initiative brought in by the governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. This program has set a goal to create 1,940 megawatts of new, solar-produced electricity by 2016. This is what helped the decrease of the price of a solar installation.

This incentive program is organized by the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) and by the Senate Bill 1 (SB 1). It goal is, in collaboration with the California Energy Commission the California Solar Initiative (CSI), to encourage the installation of 3,000 MW new solar facilities in local homes and businesses by 2017.

Although there are many solar utility projects statewide, you can still take advantage of the financial and tax deductions that are provided for the homeowners who join this incentive.
